Meet Maya Reyes

Junior · Biomedical Engineering · First-Generation Scholar

"Neither of my parents went to college. When I got into Northgate, I didn't think I could afford to say yes — until the scholarship letter arrived. That letter wasn't just money. It was someone believing in me."

Maya is now a Dean's List student, a peer mentor for incoming first-generation freshmen, and is preparing applications for graduate research programs. She plans to develop affordable medical diagnostics for underserved communities.
